Colin Waitt was born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

His acting career began when he was cast in the first play he auditioned for—a junior high school production of Harvey.  Twelve-year-old Colin played a fifty-five year old man.  He hasn’t looked back since.

Colin began his training at The University of Minnesota, where he participated in the controversial, sell-out productions of The Pope and the Witch and The Laramie Project.  During this time he also studied English literature and the Spanish language, which he put to use when he lived in Barcelona for a few months.  After finishing at the U, he went on a tour with the National Theatre for Children in Southern California.

His desire for travel still unsatisfied, Colin decided a gap year and moved to London to live and work in a pub in Piccadilly Circus.  It was during the time that he was accepted into The Central School of Speech and Drama, which has produced such actors as Judi Dench, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Andrew Garfield.  He graduated with distinction and immediately performed in You Me Bum Bum Train at the Barbican, which was the venue’s fastest selling show.  His performance experience encompasses comedy and drama, realism and the avant-garde, stage and screen.

In late 2010, Colin and some of his former colleagues from Central co-founded Untethered Films, a low-budget production house specialising in entertainment with a cross-Atlantic sensibility.  The screening of their Summer of Shorts was standing room only.  In early 2012, they filmed a TV pilot for This Is Steve, a series Colin created and did an in-house corporate video for the sales department at Channel 4.  Currently they're developing a feature-length comedy written by B. Spencer Evoy to produce in the second half of the year.

Though he does not believe in perfection, he’s fairly certain the nearest thing to it would be an afternoon spent wandering London’s Southbank followed by an evening in Covent Garden----watching street performers and enjoying a sneaky cigarette.

His motto is

i t ' s   a l l   a n   a d v e n t u r e ,   i s n ' t   i t ?
